Wellington HOA Group Exercise classes:

Wellington residents can get in shape for FREE with our group exercise classes! Please click on the link above for the full schedule. Class schedule may change depending on instructor availability and holiday/school schedules. Wellington’s classes are open to all Wellington residents. For all our regular classes no reservations are necessary, just show up. (Prior enrollment is necessary for boot camp classes only.) Most will meet in Wellington multipurpose room, but the Wednesday morning Interval Walking class meets at Post Oak Park. For all classes bring a mat plus whatever equipment is necessary (water bottle, towel, hand weights, jump rope, resistance tubing, etc.) Classes include:

TWO NEW CLASSES FOR 2023!

Barre/Pilates Class:  Combines Pilates, yoga, and ballet methods, incorporating small, isolated movements to fatigue the muscles, large range motion to elevate the heart rate, and sequencing that incorporates upper and lower body to make every minute count. Barre classes sculpt the physique to create toned muscles and increase core muscle strength, flexibility, stamina, and posture. This class is offered only during the months of January and February. In March the format will change so if you want to try Barre you need to come in January and February!

Stretch N Roll:  A 25 minute class using the foam roller.  Learn self-myofascial release techniques to rollaway muscle tension and knots, plus stretching to improve flexibility, and increase range of motion.  Use this class to stretch out after a strenuous workout, to warm up before a workout, or just on its own as a short non-impact exercise session. This class meets immediately after the Core Training class on Saturday mornings.

Continuing Classes:

Interval Walk:  This class is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!  Join us for a great time outside, walking (or possibly running, you can choose), and visiting with friends!  We meet at Post Oak Park, located at the corner of Flower Mound Rd. and Skillern Blvd. (parking lot entrance across the street from Darcey Ct.), then head out to walk the trails (the route is a quarter of a mile; you take as many laps as you want during the class.  You walk or run at your own pace so the number of laps depends on your pace).  We will take interval breaks with a variety of resistance exercises based on body weight.  All fitness levels are welcome, and regardless of whether you are a walker, a runner, or a couch potato, you are going to LOVE this class!  Bring your water!

HIIT It:  Monday and Thursday mornings 8:45-9:20 am, Tuesday evening 7:15-7:45 pm. High-intensity interval training is here!  Short bursts of high-intensity exercise with brief periods of rest in between.  Interval training helps you to more effectively burn calories and increase your fitness level in less time. Bring a mat, water, and a set of hand weights.

Core Training: Exercises that will train your core, increase strength and flexibility. Classes are held Saturdays from 8:00-8:55 am.  Bring a mat, water, and a set of hand weights. After class stick around for Stretch N Roll!

YogaA series of flowing moves designed to help participants increase strength, balance, and flexibility, as well as learn to relax and de-stress. Children who can sit quietly and follow instruction are welcome! (Note: this is NOT a prenatal yoga class and is not intended for pregnant women. Many yoga poses are contraindicated during pregnancy.) Yoga classes are held Sunday afternoons 3:45-4:45pm, Tuesday mornings at 8:45-9:45 am, and Tuesday evenings 6-7 pm. Bring a yoga mat, a yoga strap (a belt will work fine), water and a towel.

Strength Yoga: Not your typical yoga class, this class will tone and strengthen your muscles using yoga poses incorporating free weights, body weight, and even stretch bands.  Connect your mind and body to build your strength and endurance mindfully.  You'll leave feeling that yoga glow of hard work and relaxation.  Bring a yoga mat and a towel. Strength Yoga is held on Thursday evenings from 7:15-8:15 pm.

Water Aerobics: Classes meet at the Main Pool during June, July and August on Wednesday mornings 8:45 am and Monday evenings 6 pm.  The water aerobics classes are scheduled to start in 2023 on Wednesday, May 31 at 8:45 am and on Monday, June 5 for the 6-7 pm class.
