Wellington Heart & Sole Pedometer Challenge
Thanks to all the Wellington residents who participated in the 2020 Heart & Sole Pedometer Challenge. For this year’s challenge Wellington residents logged a total of 11,830,566 steps (approximately 5,086.23 miles)! A total of 29 participants enrolled in this year’s program, and 26 people finished, which translates to a 90% adherence rate. To break it down between the adults and the kids, we had 23 adult participants and 20 adult finishers. There were 6 kids signed up, and all 6 kids finished and turned in scorecards. Our number of participants was down this year because of the pandemic, but the good news is that our adherence was the best it has ever been.
The grand prize winner, drawn at random from the list of all adult finishers, is Stephanie Epps. Stephanie receives a gift certificate to Academy Sports for her efforts. Our top stepper this year is Melissa Bravo, who finished with 661,893 steps, or 284.56 miles. Eliza Szumska came in second with 646,625 steps (278 miles). The third-place finisher was Rinthorn Supasithumrong, who logged 638,638 steps(274.56 miles). In the Kids’ division the top finisher was John Mangelson, who ended with 515,068 steps (221.44 miles). Chavisa Supasithumrong came in second with 465,271 steps (200.03 miles).Joshua Mangelson finished third with 448,060 steps (1992.63 miles). Congratulations to all who participated!
