Wellington Heart & Sole Pedometer Challenge
Thanks to all the Wellington residents who participated in the 2021 Heart & Sole pedometer challenge. For this year’s challenge Wellington residents logged a total of 18,633,580 steps (approximately 8,011 miles)! A total of 42 participants completed this year’s program, and 67 people enrolled, which translates to a 63% adherence rate. To break it down between the adults and the kids, we had 54 adult participants and 40 adult finishers. This year 13 kids signed up, and 2 kids finished and turned in scorecards.
All finishers received a prize for their efforts (resistance bands for the adults, Frisbees for the kids), plus one adult was a grand prize winner This year’s grand prize winner, drawn at random from the list of all adult finishers, is Erin Fisher. Erin will receive a gift certificate to Academy Sports for her efforts.
Our top stepper for 2021 is Cindy Jones, who finished with 661,406 steps, or 284.35 miles. Melissa Bravo came in second with 655,279 steps (281.72 miles). The third-place finisher was Michael Laumann, who logged 654,006 steps (281.17 miles). In the Kids’ division the top finisher was Siddarth De, who ended with 475,658 steps (204.5 miles).
