Brief History and General Information
History:
The Wellington of Flower Mound Residential Association, Inc. (WFMRAI) is the homeowners association for Wellington of Flower Mound Phases 1-9, Brandywine at Wellington, Hillcrest at Wellington, Lakewood, Oaks of Wellington, Wellington Estates, and Wichita Chase. This community was established in early 1995 with the first house being occupied in Phase 1. The playground and two tennis courts were the first amenities. The pool opened the following summer of 1996. The Athletic Club, three additional tennis courts, and the basketball court were completed in September 1998. The west pool and playground were added in 2002. The putting green and volleyball court were added in 2005.
Present Facilities:
The Wellington Athletic Club, located at 3520 Furlong Drive, includes 5 lighted tennis courts, basketball court, putting green, sand volleyball court, playground, junior Olympic-size swimming pool, tot pool, cabana, state-of-the-art fitness facility managed by The Cooper Aerobics Center, a multipurpose room, 2 locker rooms, and a conference room for small meetings. The Wellington West Center, located at 3300 Mandalay Drive includes a junior Olympic-size pool, cabana, and playground.

New Resident Orientation
Please contact the Fitness Director to schedule an Orientation appointment. Upon completion of the orientation process, you will receive the gate code and an access card that will give you admittance into the facility. Each household is entitled to two (2) Access Cards during orientation. Replacement and additional cards must be purchased.

Wellington Fitness Center is professionally staffed by the Cooper Aerobics Center. Cooper believes in providing a quality fitness program in a professional and nurturing environment. Individuals have access to educational, exercise, and adherence programs designed to encourage healthful lifestyles. A degreed and certified Fitness Director is available on-site for any questions you may have about your personal fitness program. The Director's hours are posted on the office door in the fitness room.
Available Services:
Machine Orientation: The staff is available to instruct members on how to use the cardiovascular and strength equipment. Make an appointment with the fitness director or stop by to ask a question.
Personal Training: Wellington Athletic Club trainers design, supervise, and motivate you to achieve your best through our personalized, one-on-one training program. All Wellington Athletic Club trainers are certified to provide you with the best instruction the fitness industry has to offer. Sessions may be purchased individually or in multiple training sessions. See the fitness director for pricing.
Personal Fitness Assessment: Establish a baseline with a thorough health assessment in order to track your fitness improvement. The assessment includes a lifestyle inventory, height, weight, resting heart rate, blood pressure, and an evaluation of your flexibility, strength, body composition, and cardiovascular fitness levels. Contact the fitness director for prices and scheduling of your personal fitness assessment.
Fitness/Wellness Programming: Incentive programs are offered on a quarterly basis and are typically free of charge. Incentive participants are challenged with various fitness and wellness activities as a means of providing education and motivation. Other events offered throughout the year include health fairs, wellness seminars, charity run/walks, periodic group exercise classes, recreational leagues and more!
Group Exercise Programs: Free group exercise classes are offered weekly for residents. A calendar of classes and times may be found under menu item Fitness Events on this website.
Fitness Center Features:
Wellington Fitness Center is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment used for achieving cardiovascular conditioning and muscular strength and endurance. The resistance and cardiovascular equipment is biomechanically sound, safe and specifically designed to aid in the advancement of human performance.

Tennis Courts
Five tennis courts are available for our resident's use. All five courts have lights. A court reservation log is located in the mailbox located by courts 2 and 3.
Pools
Wellington offers 2 pool locations:
3520 Furlong Drive includes a junior Olympic-size swimming pool and a baby pool
3300 Mandalay Drive includes a junior Olympic-size swimming pool
Season: 3rd Saturday in April last Sunday in September
Hours: 9am to 10pm (times may vary due to swim team practices or classes)
Meeting Facilities
The Multipurpose room (MPR) and conference room at the Wellington Athletic Club is for the enjoyment and convenience of its residents and their guests. The MPR can hold up to 100 people and is equipped with folding tables and stacking chairs. The conference room can hold up to 14 adults.
Committees and Other Positions (volunteer opportunities)
Amenities Committee
Works with the Community and Management Company to recommend policies and provide oversight of the pools, athletic club, playgrounds and courts.
Architectural Control Committee (ACC)
The primary function of this committee is to assist the Board in regulating the external design appearance, use, and maintenance of neighborhood homes.
Landscape Committee
Provides assistance in selecting seasonal color changes, contributes ideas for long and short term landscape improvements, and assists the management company in overseeing the landscape maintenance upkeep.
